Round 1 Is Done, On To Round 2

Posted Aug 02 2012 1:27pm

I successfully completed round 1 of my Lyme disease treatments.  Now I have a week of just saline IVs in order to cleanse or flush out the Lyme.  This week has been the toughest so far because the Lyme are fighting fiercely.  The saline has given them a formal eviction notice to leave the place where they have been living so comfortably for such a long time.

Next week I start round 2 of the treatments.  This will consist of 2 antibiotics taken back to back – 2 times a day, 3 days a week, saline IVs on the other days.  The doctor already prepared me that I will experience more herxing with this round of treatments.  You really can’t prepare yourself for what’s ahead because the herxing can cause the same symptoms more intensely or new symptoms will show up.  I feel like I’m going to a salad bar blindfolded with no choice about what will end up on my plate.

Your cards & emails continue to encourage me along this journey.  I truly have been blessed.
