My Mountains Are Waiting

Posted Sep 30 2012 6:45pm

Imagine that concurrently you get a stabbing pain in your knee, muscle spasms in your arm, & pin pricks all over your feet.  That’s on top of the usual symptoms such as neck & back pain.  During my last two weeks of treatment these ‘extra’ symptoms, all over my body, come & go at will.  The Lyme is fighting back even harder but they don’t realize who they are up against -:)

The co-infections of Lyme are a significant part of my treatment.  Quite often, the ticks carry more than just Lyme Disease & these are called co-infections.  Lyme Disease is the headliner and co-infections are the warm-up acts.  They are currently treating me for five separate co-infections.  One of these is Babesiosis & it mimics Malaria so anti-malarial medications are used to fight it.  Over the next 3 days, I will be taking large doses of an anti-malaria medication.  It would be hard to find anyone looking forward to that.  The great Dr. Seuss once said:  “Today is your day!…Your mountain is waiting.  So…get on your way.”
