A friend asked me to post this:
From the California Lyme Disease Association:
We need your help to encourage healthcare professionals to attend the
annual scientific/medical Lyme conferences in San Francisco in
October. This is the first year the conferences will be on the west
coast and outreach is critical.
Please make sure your LLMD or any other interested healthcare
professional has this information right away. One good way to approach
it is to download the CALDA grant application from the CALDA website
http://www.lymedise ase.org/calda/ educational_ grants.html and email it,
fax it, or USPS mail it to healthcare providers along with copies of
the LDA and ILADS conference fliers.
Consider creating a fax list on your computer of local healthcare
providers and clinics. Look them up in your yellow pages, call and ask
for their fax numbers. Once you have created such a list, you can use
it any time to fax Lyme information to them and raise awareness locally.
Call your local medical society or hospital medical education
department to see if they will distribute this information and then
send it to them.
*GRANTS*
CALDA will reimburse up to $800.00 out-of-pocket expenses for any
actively practicing MD, DO, ND, NP or PA in any state to attend the
LDA and ILADS annual conferences. CALDA grants are limited and are
only available to qualifying professionals attending the conferences
for the first time. Preference will be given to persons currently
engaged in treating tick-borne infections and who plan to attend both
conferences.
