When people heard that the virus in the nasal vaccine was a live virus, there was much concern that the vaccine recipient would shed and spread the virus for up to 10 days. Logic would continue with the fact that if this vaccine was given before any noticable large outbreak...that it could be the actual catalyst for an outbreak.Recipients were told not to go near those with immune compromised conditions for a period of days.Of course if they go to school, it would spread to others. A couple of weeks ago in Connecticut, the news showed children lining up and recieving doses of the nasal vaccine. Yesterday and today we are hearing blaring news reports that whole school districts are closing down.
Am I missing something or is this an obvious point that the public and medical community should be picking up on? I was in a hospital in New Haven yesterday and spoke to the nurses about this. Many of them were very upset about all the swine flu propaganda and did not want the shots and they were concerned about the nasal vaccines.
