Halfway House

Posted Feb 18 2011 2:26pm
I have joked on many occasion that we live in a halfway house -- not the kind you're thinking, but the kind full of halfway finished projects.  Since starting construction on our house 3 1/2 years ago life has happened and things have stalled.  Not at all to take away from what we have accomplished; our house is very livable and when we purchased it, it was completely uninhabitable!  We've been knocking off some projects left & right as the baby's due date nears and our to-do list is dwindling (yay!).  For the next few weeks we have the following plan:

Saturday morning: paint dining room ceiling
Saturday afternoon: attend wedding of a good friend
Sunday: second coat on dining room walls & ceiling
Monday or Tuesday: installation of built-in buffet in dining room~~~during the week arrange dining room, have rocking chair reupholstered & paint baby’s room~~~
Next Weekend - 2/26-27: Finish Painting Baby’s room; Finish Downstairs family room; Finish Dining Room ~~~during the week have towel racks for guest bathroom plated~~~
3/5-6: Saturday: Niece's BIRTHDAY PARTY; Sunday: Baby's Room (enough for sister-in-law to use)~~~during the week order curtains & curtain rods for living room~~~
Wed: company arrivesSat: BABY SHOWERMon: company departs~~~during the week take lamps to repair shop~~~
3/19-20: LittleA’s closet
3/26-27: LittleA’s closet, Baby’s room
4/2-3:  Baby’s room
4/9-10:  Baby’s room / reorganize boxes/garage
~~~Be Prepared for Baby anytime~~~
4/16-17: reorganize boxes/garage
4/23-24: EASTER, last minute cleaning/arranging
~~~Mon: Hubby's bday~~~

There appears to be no end in sight, but at least outlining what needs to be done enables us to tackle it one project at a time (as budget allows). We either hire out the work or my hubby does it so we're restricted on funds or his available time. It might be another 3 1/2 years, but hopefully there is light at the end of the tunnel!
