It has been a while since I have posted an update. I actually wrote a post a week ago then realized that I forgot to publish it (brain fog). The forgotten post was posted a few minutes ago. Below is the new post…
Yesterday we celebrated the completion of five months of treatment! The IV antibiotics used in this round of treatment have been much more challenging, causing significantly more herxing. There are definite signs of progress though – sleeping through the night; conquering day-to-day activities like cutting my food; significant strides in my physical therapy work; engaging more with people; seizures have declined greatly. Considering that I needed others to help me brush my hair & teeth in September of last year, I am elated.
Gracey has benefited from my diminishing cognitive skills though. I usually can’t remember the last time she had a treat so she may be getting a few extras. The other day I gave her two scoops of dog food, twice the food she normally eats. She looked at me like Manna had falled from heaven! Being a Beagle & not one to complain, she gobbled all of the food like a Hoover vacuum.
I see my Lyme doctor next Friday & would greatly appreciate your prayers. If you are able to donate towards the cost of my treatment (since it is not covered by our insurance), it would be greatly appreciated. Even though I have been told that the next round of treatments will be even tougher, it means that the Lyme is being killed. I will continue on this long & windy road, not knowing when I will reach the end, fighting all the while like a Lyme warrior.
