Well is has been a hectic few weeks here in the Marcille household. Don was sent to the ER with some severe cognitive problems which at first glance appeared to be a brain injury from a fall off of a ladder. Don could not answer simple questions and was very confused. Even when given the answer if he was asked a few minutes later he could not recall the answer. The more we looked over the facts though the more we wonder if it is his Lyme disease acting up. The fall had been over a week before the cognitive problems and even before the fall he had gone to the Dr because he was having brain fog and confusion. They did an MRI and found white areas on his brain but left us with no explanation other than they suggested he go on antidepressants!
I had restarted Lyme treatment but then had to stop because of a dye off reaction. I also had to stop my Probiotics because they were causing bad diarrhea even though they were lactose free. I had finally gotten settled down enough so that I could restart and on day 5 (which is my magic number for Herxing) I got a cold that virtually overnight turned into asthma and bronchitis so I ended up in the E/R with difficulty breathing and barely able to talk. They did a breathing treatment, did x-rays and gave me antibiotics and an inhaler. What amazed me was that I got so sick so fast it was scary. Things have started to settle down a little so I plan to restart the Cefuroxime today. Keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well.
