Fun with Food for Spring Time!

Fun with Your Food for Spring Time!

Jump into spring the right way and have some fun with your food! Who says we can't play with our food as we grow up? I love making "themed" snacks and fun colorful, healthy treats to nibble on especially when I have friends/family coming over! These homemade treats take about 5 minutes to make and are made up of fruits, nuts and healthy foods to help you keep your body moving with the right stuff! You can make your own variations using veggies, fruits, peanut-butter etc! The possibilities are endless and so is the amount of fun you can have when "playing with your food!"Here are my three from breakfast this morning: A butterfly (for lupus of course, and quite appropriate for spring, a flower, and a bunny! (seeing as how Easter is tomorrow it only seemed fitting!)

Our Easter bunny snack is made up of a lightly salted rice cake (or whatever flavor tickles your fancy!) Apple wedges for ears with grapes cute length-wise inside, and a face that has a strawberry tip nose, almond whiskers, and a cashew halves smile! Eyes are made of craisins/raisins and you are ready with an adorable and healthy bunny treat!
This cute little flower snack is so simple and makes a nice presentation! With apple slices as leaves, an apple peel (green apple) for a stem and grapes cut in half serve as the flower petals with a strawberry center to complete our flower!

Our Butterfly snack is made of Apple wedges, red grapes cut length-wise, and nuts and craisins to decorate the wings!

I hope you enjoy our spring time healthy snacks and feel free to get creative and have some fun! If you make any of our creations or have any of your own feel free to send us pics and we can share them with our readers as well! Have a wonderful Saturday full of spoons!
