Back To Prednisone

Posted Dec 18 2010 9:06pm

Ever since I had LUPUS, Prednisone have been my medicine. No matter what other illness I get, steriods have been able to control it. At first I really hated it but as time goes by, I learned to accept the truth. And just like someone from a medical assistant school I studied my illness and the medicine that I take and find a way to lessen the negative side effect. This year, my rheumatologist decided to switch me to Medrol because of water retention due to Prednisone. I was taking Medrol while I am on oral chemotherapy also. Then I met an accident, had a surgery. Good thing, when I was being monitored in the hospital, the protein leak stopped and then my blood pressure normalized. So, after some months my rheuma decided to go back to prednisone. According to him, my bloated face would go back to normal because of this. Hopefully. Together with the pred, I would be taking Plaquenil also. It’s a relief since pred is cheaper than Medrol. And I am praying that it also can control my protein leak.
