I had a friend way back in high school who I can never forget. We grow up together. From age five until high school. He is intelligent and God fearing. But as we grow older, changes started. He went to a different set of friends who have according to many belong to the wrong side of the street. At first I thought the changes in him are just brought about by teen hood but the symptoms are there. Despite the denials of his family many have confirmed that he is indeed a drug addict. I haven’t seen him take alcohol, so taking him to a alcohol rehab is not really the option.
But definitely, if his family were never ashamed and have been open to suggestions, they might have been able to save him. You see his family is an old fashion type who think their kids would never do something wrong. I was thinking if they were only keen enough to enroll my friend in a drug and alcohol rehab then they might have save his future. He might be enjoying his life right now with his kids and wife.
Now, you asked me where he is ? Well, he died a couple of years ago because of drunk driving. Until today his family are in denial of his past. But despite of that I miss him every now and then.
