This is a great place to hike, and so close to the city.  About a ten minute drive over the Golden Gate and you're there (take the Stinson Beach exit and make your first left after the highway intersection).   You can do a 3 mile relatively flat walk/run to the beach, or hike up to the Pacific Coast Trail.
