Cross-country ski with Team in Training. So far, the SF and Anchorage offices sponsor teams each winter. If you're nearby, join us. It's warmer on snow in the mountains than cycling in winter rain in the Bay Area, my team members who also cycle tell me!    --Just a participant, but always looking for teammates (and amazed how many people still don't know that TNT trains xc-ski teams!)...

Team In Training is an amazing organization! It's the largest endurance sports training program in the world, with over 300,000 people trained to participate in half marathons, marathons, triathlons, century rides, ski races and more, while raising more than $700 MILLION for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (TNT is part of the Society). I did my first triathlon with TNT (Pacific Grove '01 - Go Team!) after moving to San Francisco from New York and it was a great way to meet fun, caring, positive, active people (many of whom are still close friends), get trained by world class coaches with a step-by-step training program, and have the opportunity to raise a money for a worthy cause. It was truly a life changing experience. The program does a great job of connecting team members with the society's mission (curing cancer!) and helping inspiring and training everyone on the team to accomplish what for most people is the biggest physical challenge of their lives.

Ride your bike to work day! (SF to San Mateo) by Dave K. Jun 01 07 4:59pm By sheer coincidence, I rode my bike to work on, well, bike to work day. My friend and co-worker Jeff and I had been talking about riding in from San Francisco to our office in San Mateo for weeks, and finally picked what we though was a random Thurdsay. We headed through the GG Park and down...
First Steps by Lis S. Jun 11 07 11:26am So, my first run didn't kill me. I didn't feel like my entire body was going to fall apart or that my lungs were on fire. My neck, ears, feet and shins all felt fine (those were the body parts that just couldn't take running in the past). In fact, at the end of my run, I felt like it was...
