Chelsea Piers is the best (only?) spot in the city to hit golf balls, and they have a great climbing wall, track, roller rink, ice rink, bowling alley and a pool. I admit, I don't use most of the other facilities, but my friends climb there sometimes and it's just great to have all these sports facilities in the city for people.

If you love gymnastics, why not love horse vaulting. My daughter, who is six, went with her godmother and watched her godmother's niece, who is an Olympic gold medalist, teach half a dozen young girls horse vaulting. It looked like quite a workout. Strength and precision is what come to mind...
