Why I Write ( #HAWMC Day 1)

Posted Apr 01 2013 10:04pm
During the month of April, I will be participating in the Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge. You can join me in writing about health for 30 days: .
When I first started writing this blog in December 2010, I did it simply to keep our friends and family who live across the country up to date with Anna and her then impending transplant.  Then I started to have strangers contact me who had read our story.  They themselves or family members had been through the transplant process, or maybe also had a special needs child.  That was when I realized the power of my words. Even though I do not have a lot of traffic on my blog, that doesn't matter.  If I am able to reach out to one person and help him or her feel not so alone, then that means more than having a world famous blog.
