Ms. Lindsay Latham began her dance studies at Fletcher School of Dance in her home town of Asheville, N.C. at the age of three. By the age of ten, she was accepted into the Boston Ballet Children's Summer Workshop. Upon her return, Lindsay began to study with the Greenville Ballet in S.C. and became the company's youngest member. There, she performed many lead and soloist roles in Andrew Kuharsky's ballets including the Dew Drop from The Nutcracker. Lindsay continued to dance with the company for three years and during the summers she attended the School of American Ballet's summer program at Julliard in N.Y.C. In 1995, as a junior in high school, Lindsay was accepted and studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts for two years. During this time, she was trained by Melissa Hayden, Nina Danilova, Duncan Noble, Melinda Lawerence, Fanchon Cordell, Frank Smith, and Robert Lindgren to name a few. She also had the privilege of performing with ABT principle ballerina Gillian Murphy and danced in many timeless ballets including La Bayadere, The Nutcracker, Who Cares and Symmetries. After graduation, Lindsay continued her studies with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) in N.Y.C. and in 1998 she began dancing professionally with the North Carolina Dance Theatre in their production of Serenade. She later returned to Asheville, N.C. to begin her teaching career continuing to perform professionally. Ms. Lindsay has instructed students in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contempory and liturgical dance. Many of her students have been accepted into professional ballet companies and some are performing in Cats, at Busch Gardens, Carowinds, and many other off Broadway shows. She is currently the owner and director of the Tampa Bay Ballet.
