Shades of Montgomery?

Posted May 28 2009 11:22pm

I am generally tolerant of cops--most cops anyway. However, in some police cultures the authority literally overwhelms their persona. Such seems to be the case in rural Oklahoma when an Oklahoma State Trooper arrested a practicing paramedic caring for a patient. The details are, of course, muddled. However, it clearly appears to be an abuse of authority (or compensation for small genitals). But, when I first saw this image it reminded me of black and white photos from the Civil Rights movement. The paramedic, who appears black, was working for the Creek Nation EMS (a Native-American tribe). The anger on the trooper's face is extremely disconcerting. Was it racial? Who knows? But, you have to wonder...
