Available in English. Medical Abbreviation Pal is a great tool for anyone in the medical field that needs to use medical abbreviations for charts, records, or data entry. MAP includes over 850 of the most commonly used abbreviations and there meanings, with options to search easily and quickly. You can save your favorite or most commonly used abbreviations, or copy them with there definitions to the clip board. If your a student and want to study, memorize or learn them, your in luck, this app includes a flashcard practice area. You can go through the “cards” randomly, or in alphabetical order. You can also just study the ones you have saved. If you want to start with the meaning, you can do that too. Doctor, Nurse, Administrator, or Student, you will find this a handy reference. Available for 99 cents only in the App Catalog .

NIH Stroke Scale for webOS helps you calculate this commonly used stroke score on your webOS device. It uses drop down lists to select the appropriate performance for each of the 15 items in the scale. Tapping on the “I” button provides more information on each item as a handy look-up. Visual tools for the assessment can be accessed from the “I” button or from the Tools menu item. The result displays the final score as well as a recap of the responses. You can optionally copy the output (with date/time stamp) to the clipboard (for pasting e.g. in a memo) or send it in an email, to help keep track of scores over time for individual patients. Freeware in the App Catalog

I have included both of these apps in the medical webOS app round up on Medical References . You can also check out the other round-ups on medical Drug References and Calculators/Lab References for webOS.
