massage private practice

Posted by Shawn M.

I have worked as a professional massage therapist for over twenty years.  I have always maintained a private clientele and have worked in conjunction with chiropractic doctors as well.  I have been trained in Swedish, Sports, Medical, and numerous forms of kinesiology including educational, transformational and cranio-sacrcral therapy.

My practice is most influenced by my understanding of energy as I have experienced it through aikido and yoga.  I have worked with people who have been incapacitated by stroke and have regained mobility and with people undergoing cancer treatment.

I highly recommend anyone considering purchasing a session with a professional massage therapist to check first and make sure they have an active standing as a massage therapist with the AMTA American Massgae therapy Association.

8. Hi Shawn. This is something I wanted to know and I think you are the right person to ask. How often should a normal person get a massage? I do not have any pain, but having a massage just really relaxes me. It is something I truly enjoy. Is there a formula on how often, or does it boil down to a personal choice?
