Life lessons from the road

Posted Jan 23 2009 6:16pm
Wowzers, it has been a crazy week! I cannot believe that it is already Thursday. I feel like I have been running around everywhere, trying to accomplish a thousand different things. Even better news is that I have been moderately successful.

So I think I will revisit the idea of life lessons focusing on the road.

Appropriate lane placement demands prior planning. Driving in traffic can be brutal, particularly when there are those people who realizes that they need to jump over 4 lanes in 50 feet so they do not miss their exit. Also, when driving on multi-lane highways, it can be awkward when coordinating lane changes to allow the smoothest traffic flow. So know where you are going and have a plan to get there.

The experience works better if you loosen your grip on the wheel. Driving in a white-knuckle situation can be very overwhelming and physically taxing. Control is important, but a death grip to ensure your desired route does not permit you to enjoy your journey.

Appreciate scenic routes. Life is really about the journey as the short-term destinations seem to constantly shift.
