Imagine the horror when I first got my iPhone 3G and what does apple do? They send me off on a rampage searching for a paperclip or needle to open the SIM card slot! There is a little hole at the top of the iPhone just next to the earphone jack. Well 2 days later I found out the there is a small tool (easily missed!) in the box to open it. It is stuck on the black cardboard in the box. Here is a pic of it. Just stick it in the hole and push firmly and the SIM card slot will come out. Good Luck!
