In theso calleddeveloped world cosmetic surgery of more or less doubtful character is very common.
Here in Aira there is usually no place for that – and no demand either for that part. There are however few exceptions. One such is the very large lip with extra tissue which some persons are suffering from since the surroundings are giving them a hard time with harassing and mobbing.
The famous Swedish writer Bo Ranelid has many times told about his own sufferings caused by this phenomenon during his childhood.
And it is disfiguring an otherwise beautiful face.
No one wanted to marry this girl, and being unmarried is a catastrophe in this culture where family and children is the very meaning of life.
Therefore our hearts softened and we did one of the very rare cosmetic procedures performed at the hospital
On the operating table – in her own clothes
After surgery – “How do I look?” - standing on toes in front of the mirror
She was extremely happy and grateful afterwards. She promised to invite us for her wedding whenever that will be.
