Lauren was born on November 27, 1987 in Buffalo, NY. She started dancing just before turning three, thanks to her parents good judgment. Her mother spent Laurens' childhood hopping from studio to studio attempting to find the best training Buffalo had to offer. Like most not-so-big cities, there weren't many options. In seventh grade, Lauren moved to Toronto, Ontario after being accepted to the National Ballet School. It was an exciting and promising accomplishment. She returned home the next year to an amazing academic school and studied privately with Linda Perez and with The Seedling Company. Her summer months were spent away studying at various schools including North Carolina School of the Arts and Boston Conservatory. She was accepted into all the colleges she applied to, and chose New World School of the Arts. This is where she finds herself today. She is studying under the direction of Daniel Lewis, Peter London, Bambi Anderson, and Elaine Wright. She has performed works by John McFall, Peter London, Bill Evans, Paul Taylor, Garth Fagan, Martha Graham, Gerard Ebitz, and many others. She has also spent time at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre and the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance. Her most recent honor was the invitation she received to participate in a workshop with The Martha Graham Dance Company and Janet Eilber. She was also given the 2007 Honors award for both artistic and academic achievement by Daniel Lewis. Two and a half years later, with one year left of professional training, Lauren is on the verge of entering the competitive dance world in New York City.
