Laura is a senior at California State University, Long Beach studying Journalism and Public Relations, with a minor in Communication Studies. In 2007, an article she wrote regarding the rising cost of birth control for students was picked up by U-Wire and published online at The New York Times.
Her career goal is to use the skills she acquired in college to become a Journalism and Public Relations professional in the Healthcare field. Specifically, she is interested in Celiac Disease, Gluten-free living, Autism, and overall health. Laura was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2006, and has since been passionate about raising awareness.
Her personal health goal is to continue to learn and grasp a deeper knowledge on Celiac Disease. Living with Celiac Disease is a daily learning experience, and she strives to become more aware of all that it entails. She also enjoys teaching others about the disease, as well as the benefits of a gluten free diet. She enjoys baking gluten-free goodies, as well as creative and tasteful dinners.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, going to the movies, baking, sushi, wine, traveling, and living in Southern California.
