I'm 37yrs old. I have 7 beautiful and wonderful children. I had my tubal ligation in April 2000. In March of 2009 I had them reversed. The reason for that surgery is I became married last year and my husband has no children.
So we decided to try and conceive. Before the surgery, we learned that my tubal ligation was done by fimbriectomy. This was devastaing! Our obgyn stated that he could perform the surgery with good outcome. He stated he had experience in this type of procedure and circumstances. We are optomistic people and thought we would be successful in getting pregnant.
We recently had a diagnostic laparoscopy and both tubes were open. At our post-op appointment the doctor informed me that my chances of conceiving is about 20%. He stated we will try clomid 50mg for the next six months. If unsuccessful we are good candidates for IVF. We thought six months? It has been seven months now and I'll soon be 38. This is very hard for us to swallow. We feel helpless and that we lost out on precious time with the reversal. Maybe we should've tried IVF from the beggining. We have spent $1000's of dollars on both surgeries only to face $1000's more.
We are searching for other possibilities and answers. We really want to conceive naturally but that seems to be almost impossible. Hopefully we will find the right answers and the right doctor to help us acheive our goal.
To all the others out there in the search, i pray that all of your dreams and expectations are met and exceeded!
