is it an assurance for a longer and better life for kidney patients? what are its limitations?

 

 If u have go for transplant, pt can live long life, with normal life.  For 20to 25 year.ON DIALYSIS ITS DEPEND ON PT SELF CONFIDENCE AND VALUABLE TREATMENT. BUT DIALYSIS IS NOT PERMANENT SOLUTION.IN OLD AGE LIFE  WILL BE  CRITICAL .PERITONEAL DIALYSIS IS BETTER OPTION FOR OLD AGE PT.

dear dr ATUL!! your discusion is much informative. I am from pakistan. My father is on regular dialysis, twice a week since 5 years. Dialysis is also a very painful procedure.. How long one can bear these conditions? i think that kidney transplant is permanent solution to some extent for this purpose. But sir i canot afford the expenses of kidney transplantation. what can i do?

hey tell me 1st age of your dad ..ok? then we discus on it .why do not you try peritonial dyalysis ...its safe tahn hemo dialysis .and packages also available for it ..call me ..for more information ..

my father is 50 years old now. and some specific difference b/w other CRF patients and my father is that my father's both kidneys are POLYCISTIC by birth. and the size of my father's kidneys is enlarged as compared to normal. and there lot of (numerous) cysts in both kidneys, and that cysts are the main cause of the disturbance of kidney functions and as a result he is on hemodialysis since last 5 years. and has twice a week dialysis which goes on to 8- 10 dialysis per month. my father has no diabetes and no any other disease instead of hypertention and high blood pressure. the renal parameters (urea, creatinine) remain above or upto UREA=150, CREATININE=9, during the regular dialysis twice a week........

hi mubasher look form above histroy ..i would like to say ..still transplant is better choice .sorry to say ,,but you just told me near about 5 years for ur dad dilasys .so i think he will not tolarat again hemodilasys more than 1  or 2 year ..ok..i dont know your economical comdition ,but in inida transplant will done in 2.5 lakh rupees ..and you told 8 to 10 dilasys in a month ..as per your said ,you spend all ready 20 thousand ruppes and medicine extra (erithropotin inhection ..and other drugs )per month, as per calculation its more expensive ,,than trenasplant ..so you should go for transplant ,..if you need any help just call me .....and ask for your dad borthers and sister for doner ...on one kidney man can survive ,,very normally ..so convince them ,ok?
