WHY DOES MY URINE SMELL LIKE FECES?

Posted by STARRLEE83

FOR THE PAST THREE MONTHS MY URINE HAS HAD A TERRIBLY FOUL, FECAL- SMELLING URINE. IT IS MOSTLY IN THE MORNING WHEN IT IS MOST ODOROUS. ALONG WITH THE FOUL SMELL, I HAVE EXCESSIVE NAUSEA AND SOMETIMES VOMITING. I HAVE CONSTANT FLANK AND ABDOMINAL PAIN AND DISCOMFORT. I SEE MY DOCTOR IN THREE WEEKS, BUT FOR NOW IT'D BE NICE TO KNOW AT LEAST WHICH BALL PARK OF AILMENT I MAY HAVE.

A family member of mine had this same problem- fecal smelling urine and abdominal pain.  Something told her to go to the doctor and they found out she had ecoli!!!  She was placed on antibiotics and the issue was resolved.  The weird thing is she is very particular about what she eats - a vegetarian.  Go to the doctor and ask him to test you for this bacteria.

i am a doctor and your symptoms are suggestive for a UTI or a colo-ureteric fistula. Your flank pain may also suggest an ascending infection most probably to the kidneys. In order to preserve your renal function I suggest to visit your doctor ASAP
