what options do I have if my left kidney is functioning at less than 10% based on a renal scan?

Posted by brenda

I have had kidney infections through out my life and am 50 yrs old. Ended up in hospital from the last one, and found from c-scan that my ureter (?) opening from kidney to bladder was being pinched by a vessel coming into kidney. Doctor was going to do surgery to move/reconstruct opening, but first wanted to do renal scan.  Just found out from scan kidney is functioning at less than 10%

I'd love to have an answer, I'm at 20% but have frequent infections and stones and want to know if removal is the only answer as this is what I'm being told.
