is the pain from having a stent put in ur ureter manageable with pain meds?

i go in for surgery next week and im horrified at what im reading about stents i dont have kidney stones i have a blockage from a complication from a hysterectomy about an inch of blockage they have to cut out and they said i will have to have a stent in while im healing ,im hoping its not as bad as im thinking it will be
