I'm a 15 year old female and i have a complex cyst in my left kidney. Is that normal, and can it lead to future kidney failure?

As I went in to the docters for a regular check-up, my doctor informed me that she would need another urine sample. After sending in two more, she still found protein in it. So she sent me to a pediatric nephrologist who then told me to get an appointment to get a renal ultrasound. After getting the ultrasound, they discovered a cyst in my left kidney(I'm not sure all the details as we have not gone over them) and that I was to have a catscan. I just finished the catscan and now they are telling me that I have to take another one. All of this is makineg me very nervous since I read on how its nomal for those in the age range of 40-70 to get cysts. If so, then why is a 15 year old girl getting them?
