I have kidney disease. Which type of dialysis is better? Hemodialysis or the peri-type you can do yourself at home?

 I have Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and my creatinine is 3.44.  My doctor wants to refer me to a transplant center to get listed and in the meantime wants me to see what type of dialysis I want.
