Team Actualization

Posted Sep 10 2012 12:24pm

To become everything that one is capable of becoming.

Lucy was eager to help out by entertaining the volunteers all day.

When it was brought to our attention that the 10th Annual Clackamas Down the River Clean Up was approaching, we immediately began thinking about how we could once again support our river community.  While ORT has been a part of the clean up in the past, we are always looking for ways to support the people and places around us as the support we have worked hard to attain provides a special and unique resource base to all things related to whitewater.

Saturday morning at 7am former ORT paddler Shane “Pork Chop” Conrad and current member Greg “Joker” Babikoff began freeing the banks of the Clackamas of rusty steel cables. Reportedly, these cables were once used to tie together enormous log rafts in an effort to transport them downstream.

To simply accept the status quo can or will lead to stagnation.  Waters become warm, dark, and tepid.

The Law and Professor contemplate how were going to get the heavy cable up the bank.

A pulley system is devised. Team Quest fighter Terrence prepares to drag it in. T later ran down the trail towing 200 pounds of cable to prepare for his fight next week in Russia.

KEEN supports our river community.

Commonly when you trying something new plans change.  Resiliency takes over and the tough find another gear to complete the mission.  Our tractor broke down in the 90 degree heat, and we lost some help due to prior commitments and retrieving replacement equipment.

John Meier, T, Timber, and Chip Sell. Last men standing. Sculpture Ben Dye will insure that the metal behinds us provides awareness so our next generations keep our rivers clean. We Love Clean Rivers.

Ox and the Law may be getting more out of this Team Actualization bit than anticipated. Sunday. Day 2 of our weekend mission.

AIRE rafts can be used for many things. Made in the USA.

Trash attack.

Chilly day for the divers…

and swimmers! Timber and Joker try a recovery technique. We both ended up going in the drink but about 30 cans were recovered:)! Sweet Helmets joins ORT for our first joint endeavor.

Guess why we call him Joker? Even Lucy can’t believe this guy!

Nice video by Sam Drevo:

See yall next year!  If you dig what were doing please Like us on Facebook and support our sponsors!
