ORT special ops paddler Stunt Man Dan asked Timber if he wished to take a trip down the world famous Little White Salmon River. 248 feet per mile…let’s do it!
Put in. The weather was as burly as the Little White.
The bottom of Gettin Busy. Yes we got a 14 foot raft through there.
Willy Dinsdale fires up Boulder Sluice.
Sibling rivalry? Ben Dinsdale redefines “bro” on the river as he chases down Willy.
No pics of the raft as we hurtled ourselves off drops without scouting. Too much snow, not enough time, and shoot, scouting can take some of the fun out of it. Stunt Man provided good beta as evidenced by our solid lines and no swims. Don’t recall ever running 20-25 footers without first takin a look:)
Willy shows his passion on Spirit Falls.
Chaos. A terminal ledge just below Spirit confirmed that we would not huck rubber on this day. The icy portage 40 feet up a cliff may have actually been more treacherous.
A gracious thank you to the kayakers on the river who shared this pristine run with our bulky raft. ORT will always make it a point to be considerate at all times and give back to our community whenever possible.
Happy New Year!
