Common knowledge is to warm up next to a fire and a game when it gets cold out.  ORT goes boatin.  Winter in the Pacific Northwest provides numerous opportunities to apply a number of different skill sets. Canyon Creek Washington.  Our training ground for steep creekin!

While Terminator is known for wakin up the paddling beast, fortunately we were able to clean things up for the Boulder Garden and Big Kahuna-

Every January 1st the Oregon Rafting Team is honored to take our veterans rafting on the Sandy River. Timber is also a veteran however this year Hardware and Joker worked together and provided some great experiences to those that have served us so well!

No pics of the raft as we hurtled ourselves off drops without scouting. Too much snow, not enough time, and shoot, scouting can take some of the fun out of it. Stunt Man provided good beta as evidenced by our solid lines and no swims. Don’t recall ever running 20-25 footers without first takin a look:)

Chaos. A terminal ledge just below Spirit confirmed that we would not huck rubber on this day. The icy portage 40 feet up a cliff may have actually been more treacherous.

A gracious thank you to the kayakers on the river who shared this pristine run with our bulky raft. ORT will always make it a point to be considerate at all times and give back to our community whenever possible.

Happy New Year!
