Currently I am full time university student, training to be a Social Worker. I made a promise to myself that I'd lose weight and become healthy so that I could carry out such a stressful, but meaningful career path to the best of my ability.

Since the 11th of May 2011, I have gone from being obese to healthy, along the way I've taught myself how to cook (a skill all students should acquire!), developed a love of exercise, made new friends and most recently, got involved in a charity fundraising walk for children with disabilities, which appeals to both my career and fitness interests!

I've changed my lifestyle so much in the last year, as you can read about here and see my Before and After picture of one year's worth of progress here, and I would love to be able to inspire even just one person to do the same. I am hoping my blog might inspire a few and I am also in the process of writing a book about healthy weight loss. My main rule is that it's fad-free! I encourage everyone to stay well away from faddy diets that could potentially cause more health problems than they solve.

It's all about creating a sustainable, enjoyable lifestyle change.
