I have taught Pilates for for fourteen years. I began taking pilates when I was nineteen and have seen its populatrity wax and wane (a bit). I still maintain that it was the technique that allowed me to win a scholarship to study dance at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City. I also credit the technique with teaching me the value of good technique in all things physical.
