I am passionate about food, health, and wellness. I believe that 'we are what we eat,' therefore we need to nourish our bodies with wholesome, healthy foods to become healthy, wholesome beings!
With a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Boston University in May 2009, I have the basic scientific knowledge necessary to go on to become a Registered Dietitian (RD). What's a RD? An RD is a food and nutrition expert who has completed a four year college degree in nutrition or dietetics, a dietetic internship, and passes a registration exam by the American Dietetic Association. So now that I have completed the first step of my path to becoming a dietitan, I am fortunate to currently be in the Dietetic Internship at Mount Auburn Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, located in Cambridge, MA. After a full year of supervised practice in medical nutrition therapy, I will be eligible to take the RD exam in September 2010.
My interests involving nutrition include counseling, communications, integrative nutrition, and sustainability. I encourage you to follow my blog to be inspired you to try new recipes, cook new foods, and learn a thing or two about the food that you eat. I hope that everyone reading this blog strives to have peace of mind, love in their hearts, and nutritious food in their bellies...because really what else do we need to be healthy and happy?!
