Hi. My name is Jen. I started running in early 2010, after hitting my first mid-ish life crisis and needing a new goal in life. My couch-to-5k quickly turned into a 5-to-10k plan and I recently completed my third half marathon and first duathlon (though I’m still literally chasing – this is where I can say literally, right? – the ever-elusive sub-2-hour HM time).
I started my blog in 2011 to keep track of my half-marathon training. This is where I get to talk about my running. A lot. I’ll tell you all about my running plans, racing strategies, lack thereof and whatever else might pop into my head at any given time of day (a lot of randomness, rest assured!).
I also like to talk about myself – probably even more than I like to talk about running. So unless you’re happy to hear about my bike rage, spewing unicorns or the cucumbers we manage to grow in our back garden, this might not be the right place for you.
I’m not a good cook. So don’t expect amazing recipes and beautifully shot pictures. In fact, my photography sucks. Sometimes I forget to take pictures and then have to re-use old ones or plagiarize my friends’ blogs (not really, that’s one thing I wouldn’t do. I will always tell you who I stole them from…). So don’t expect any Ansel Adams super shots.
However, I will regularly post sweaty pictures of myself. And be warned: I’m not very photogenic (unless I’m about to finish a race. Then, very strangely, I tend to look OK while slowly dying on the inside…).
So that’s what you’ll get at Two Itchy Feet.
