I am now retired after spending the last 30 years consulting in ophthalmic and medical lasers and ophthalmic technologies. I was on the staff of Arthur D. Little for 25 years, heading its Ophthalmic and Medical Laser Consulting Group. After my retirement from ADL, I ran my own consulting firm, Sprectrum Consulting for an additional 11 years, including publication of a monthly industry newsletter, Executive Laser Briefing. I now run two blogs -- one devoted to the products and inventions that came out of the Arthur D. Little laboratories -- ADL Chronicles; and the other devoted to many of my articles, reports and publications from my 30 years of consulting in ophthalmics and medical lasers. This is called Irv Arons' Journal. Over the past two years, my online Journal has reported on the latest technologies and developments in the field of treatments for age-related macular degeneration.
