Posted by queschenus

on 4/21/11 he was in ICU with no Vital signs and he had lost all the blood in his body as they kept tryin to restore it. I was given no answer to what happened,He cas kept in a medically induced coma for 3 days but he took 5 more days to wake uo. My daughters and I are so Blessed to have him home there is one thing driving him nuts he cannot taste. We assume that is from the surgery as well. Can anyone else tell me if they had a problem with loosing their taste from the surgery ?

Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea does have certain complications like loss of taste, difficulty in swallowing etc. It is because of the area which is operated to cure sleep apnea is also associated with other functions. Sometimes, anesthesia also causes the same in some people. But in that case, taste comes back in time.
