Health knowledge made personal
This blog was started several years ago by Hunter and her husband Mark. As a person married to an alcoholic in recovery who wanted to stay married Hunter was frustrated by the lack of information about couples who stay together. She discussed with Mark and they decided to create this blog.
Early on in its inception Mark stopped blogging. He was told by someone in his AA program that it was not a good idea. Hunter was frustrated about this but she decided to keep writing as so often it is the person who is not in recovery who holds on to things and wants things and gets frustrated buy the person in recovery and their total devotion to their program, and themselves.
After three years in recovery Mark decided to start blogging again yet his posts are sporadic. When he does post it is a lot about the program and his horrific journey from near death to living one day at a time. His writing will inspire anyone who is in recovery or struggling to get there. Hunter continues to blog and her thoughts and insights will touch anyone who lives with someone in recovery, is raising children with an alcoholic spouse,is contemplating staying with someone in recovery, and those who have left addictive relationships knowing that it was the right thing for them to do.
As a couple and family in recovery they have miles to go to rebuild, or build, their life together and as a family. Yet one day at a time it seems to get better.
