Health knowledge made personal
I started Holistica Healthcare LLC because I believe an integrative approach to wellness is the best medicine. Using personalized treatment plans, I teach patients how to take control of their own health. My background in the arts gives me a unique insight into the particular health needs of fine artists, musicians, and other performing artists.
My interests also include integrative, aesthetic, antiaging and preventive medicine, reflexology and clinical nutrition, focusing on a holistic approach to treating patients.
In 1997, I completed a 200-hour reflexology certification course at the Open Center in New York City. It was there I first found that wellness can be achieved by relieving stress and bringing the body into a state of balance. By practicing "Docere," or the philosophy of doctor as teacher, I now instruct patients to apply pressure to specific reflexology points in their own feet, empowering them to be an important part of their own healing process.
Additional training I have received includes IV Therapy, Structural Integration, and Functional Gastroenterology and I am currently a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Prior to receiving my BFA in Medical Illustration from Virginia Commonwealth University and my ND at NCNM, I worked as a graphic designer and art director in New York, New Mexico and Virginia. I continue to work as an illustrator and designer; my most recent project was illustrating a textbook on Functional Gastroenterology for NCNM Press.
