One doctor, two nurses, and and IT specialist from Botswana Harvard Aids Partnership met with Nata Clinic staff today. The time has come for Nata Clinic to start taking ARV patients. It is good news for the ARV patients, but the Nata Clinic staff are still concerned over their lack of resources. As everyone knows, we only have two consulting rooms and we already see close to 200 patients per day. Starting next week, we will see 9 ARV patients. They will be patients who have been on ARV's for quite some time and have no complications. We will slowly begin to take more and more. Our nurses were concerned that once a few patients begin getting their ARV's, the other patients will complain and not want to travel to Gweta. The representatives from BHAP said that this has happened at other
clinics but the staff will just have to assure the other patients that in time, they will also be served here in Nata. It is a huge step for us to take with our already overburdened staff. All the staff at Nata Clinic deserve our admiration for taking on this enormous duty.
