Thanks so much to Sue and Tony in Hong Kong. As you may have read, both of these wonderful people held birthday parties and asked their friends to donate to Nata village in lieu of receiving gifts. Sue even had a Vegas syle fundraiser to go along with it. The monitor cost U.S.$1,100.00 or (P6556.00). As you can see, this beautiful monitor is portable (and battery operated) and the midwives will be able to use it in transit. Since so many of our mothers are infected with HIV they are often high risk pregnancies. We have over 20 babies per month born at Nata Clinic. Now, a midwife will know when the fetus is in distress and can organize emergency transport to Gweta Hospital for caeserean section. This instrument has the potential of saving lives. We love that the use of technolgy has allowed us to meet Sue and Tony and let them interact with the Nata clinic. It was the clinic who requested this monitor and Sue, Tony and their friends who made it happen. We ordered it with the help of Panado at Orthosurge in Gaborone and they in turn sent off to Pretoria, South Africa for it. Thanks to everyone who made this happen. 100% of Sue's and Tony's donation went to help the people of Nata.
