Nata clinic staff come to the aid of accident victims

At 2am the Doctor and nurses of Nata Clinic were awakened from their sleep and asked to report to the clinic immediately. A bus carrying 24 people from Zimbabwe on their way to Namibia met up with a 24 wheel truck and unfortunately four people were killed immediately. Ten others were seriously injured and the Nata Clinic staff was able to stabilize all of them and transport them to Francistown surgical hospital. Two police vehicles were used as there wasn't enough space in the clinic ambulances. The bus was carrying netball players on their way to a tournament in Namibia. Unfortunately, their sports director was one of the people killed. This accident happened only 1 mile outside of Nata. The injuries were very severe and the Nata clinic staff are to be commended for their efforts. After working till dawn they then had to face the two hundred outptients that visit the clinic each day. Unfortunately, these types of accidents are very common on Botswana's roads. People have a tendency to doze off while driving and they also must face the numerous animals that graze along the roads at night. Our condolences to the families of the deceased.
