Final Day, month of youth against AIDS Part 3

This young man was excited to win the 1st place in the 400m and he was P25.  That amount represents a full days pay for some people in the village.  We gave out over US$55 to 18 racers.  We want to encourage the youth to participate in sports, and stay away from smoking and drinking.  After the races, the official program began.  Mr. James gave a great speech about HIV/AIDS and how the youth must take the lead in ending this disease once and for all.  Nurse Ramakama gave an update on the AIDS situation in Nata.  She reported that the number of people reporting positive test results have dropped over the past year.  A record number of people are coming to test and we have nearly 400 people in the village taking ARVs.  A representative of the Nata Police gave an update on the crime situation in Nata and he encouraged female victims of rape and defilement to come forward and prosecute their assailants. Chief Makgesi encouraged all the youth to follow and adhere to the HIV programs that are offered to them.   Melody gave the closing speech and gave the village an update on the website and how the money is being spent.  Mabogo provided the entertainment.
