Pastor Pono of UCCSA church organized all church leaders in Nata to come together to pray against HIV/AIDS and other social problems. Nikki, our website visitor attended the meeting and sat at the front in a place of honor. There was singing, praying, and a candle lighting ceremony. All pastors participated and encouraged their congregations to abstain, be faithful, and stop stigmatising those living with the virus. We also said goodbye to Brian Beadle a Baptist missionary who has served in Nata for six years. We will miss him. One of the pastors also discussed the recent passion killings and urged their parishioners to seek counseling from their church leaders if they felt troubled. Reggie gave a wonderful speech about living with AIDS and many members of Ntwakgolo support group were present wearing their uniforms. It was a good opportunity to put everyone in the religious community on the same page with regards to HIV/AIDS issues. All leaders recognized the importance of ARV’s and encouraged their use.
