Skyline. There are awesome hiking and biking trails off Skyline, HW 35. You can see the ocean, San Francisco, and more! Also, there are so many miles of trails and each is different, so you can re-visit many times before you need to find a new area. Check it out and maybe I'll run into you on the trails at some point...
some ideas. There is a great book i bought called "101 hikes in the Bay Area" - it shows you all the trails around here that have great views, waterfalls, etc. You should check out Alamere Falls - it is beautiful - and the Steep Ravine/ Matt Davis Trail loop near Stinson Beach, great ocean views.
Wonderful Ideas. I am glad that I stumbled on this question because the answers are great! I am going to check that book out. Perhaps, it is available at the local library.
I just love the Bay Area!!
Tennessee Valley and Mt. Tam. Head up Highway 101 North over the GG Bridge and take the Stinson Beach exit. You can either make a left toward Tennessee Valley, or follow signs toward Stinson Beach/Mt. Tam and head up the mountain. There's a bunch of places to park and hike from. My favorite is to go all the way down to Stinson Beach and take the Matt Davis/Steep Ravine trail up to the Pan Toll Station and back down. The views all over Tam are amazing!

I use to hike a lot in Hollywood. Does anyone know good places in SF area with spectacular views? I really like the challenging routes
