Nearby me, in Connecticut, a trail stretching between five towns (I believe), is being built. Look into whether or not similar projects are in the works near you, and if not, perhaps it's an idea to take to your local government. If there is a trail being built, no matter how big or small, helping to clear it can be a great workout, as well as a great community service project. And you can enjoy the fruits of your labor on your first hike on that trail!
