For father's day, my boyfriend and I hiked to the West Point Inn on Mount Tam. If you've never done this, it is an experience. The West Point Inn serves pancake breakfasts a few days a year, Father's Day being one. It is a volunteer-run Inn up on the mountain, accessible only by bike or foot. There are many roots to reach it, so depending on your level of ambition, you can hike a long or short distance. We hiked from the Pan Toll ranger station, 2 miles up hill on the Old Stage Road Trail. Beautiful views! The breakfast was a little pricey...$7 a pop, but next time we'll split one...too much food for one person anyway. It was super crowded with families, but that was part of the fun. I recommend it!
