is a licensed Nia Teacher, Blue Belt. Terre's past dance experiences include Country Western couples dancing where she and her husband participated in dance competitions. Terre has been teaching Nia, which is a cardio dance workout, for over four years. Terre is also a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Council on Strength and Fitness as well as a certified PiYo Instructor and Zumba Instructor.
So many people told me they love to dance. So many people told me they would love to combine their exercise with dance, so I was interested in teaching an exercise that really was dance. I was looking on the internet for something and I found Nia*. I bought the book then went to a couple of classes and realized this was somewhat what I was looking for. I say "somewhat" because it is so much more than I could have imagined. Nia is amazing. It is a workout, where you sweat, it is a cardio dance where your heart pumps and you move your body, yet the idea is Joy, so your spirit soars.
I believe in the saying, “Use it or lose it” applies to movement, strength, balance, agility, all that stuff that goes along with our bodies.
*Nia is the creation of Debbie Rosas and Carlos AyaRosas. They brought together many ideas and movement modalities. It truly is a unique fitness practice.
