I am sorry, you are having pain! The pain can catually be coming from many places...heart is one of them, stomach, gall bladder, muscles, bones or nerves. Realizing that without proper testing, and talking to you and examining you, only a doctor can figure out what is going on.
Doctors like to rule out the most serious thing first, so based on your history, and the history of the pain, they may want to run some tests on your heart (like having you walk on a tredmill while taking an EKG of your heart)
Heart pain usually happens when you are exercising or running to catch a bus or carrying something heavy. The pain starts in your center chest and can travel to your left OR right arm, your jaw and neck.(but not always...I had a patient once who had heart pain in his index finger!)
Stomach or gall bladder pain usually happens after you've eaten something heavy or high in fat (like fried chicken) Your stomach and gall bladder can cause shoulder pain that can go down your arm.
Muscle or nerve pain usually happens when you move your arm.
And bone pain is usually in the joint where your arm meets your body.
If you have risk factors for heart disease, like being overweight, high cholesterol, smoking, no exercise, family history, high blood pressure, diabetes....it would be a good idea to have it cheked out, to make sure it's NOT your heart...then you can look for other resaons for the pain.
